Reconnecting the Knots

If you’ve ever attempted macrame, you’ll know how soothing it can be to find a pattern among all the knots. However, unlike the jumble of knots I’m (Rashmeet) bound to create, Joanne Sanborn has been keeping busy during isolation by creating beautiful macrame projects.

Making and creating is something that Joanne has done for all of her life. During quarantine she “saw a Pinterest post and remembered how much [she] loved macrame.” So in a way, isolation has been a time for her to re-explore and re-connect to the motions of making and creating once again.

Try not to overthink a project- check in with your gut, step back for perspective and if you don’t like a part of it tear it out and rework it until you do.
