Bright, Beautiful, Resilient

An overhead photo of a sidewalk, surrounded by green grass. The middle section of the sidewalk has been painted with geometric shapes in bright green, orange, pink, purple, blue, yellow, and red.

My phone camera doesn’t fully capture the striking colours of this sidewalk art, which I found on a walk around my neighbourhood. It’s been a rainy couple of weeks, but this art – made with paint rather than chalk – still holds on. It gives me a lovely little burst of hope and inspiration every time I go to check the mail. Even today, they’ve painted another section of the sidewalk. It’s growing bit by bit, making every day a little more colourful than the one before.
